Vice President, Sales John Burwell has over 20 years experience in the field of Simulation & Training. Prior to joining Forterra, John was instrumental in starting up US operations for Tiltan Systems Engineering. Before Tiltan, he spent 10 years at Silicon Graphics (SGI) where he was responsible for marketing and business development for SGI's global defense, intelligence, and homeland security industry. At SGI, he also served in a variety of product marketing roles primarily related to the company's advanced graphics products and solutions. Prior to joining SGI, he gained considerable experience in the system integrator community over a nine-year period. In the early 1980s, John worked in an engineering role for Boeing Aerospace where he developed graphics hardware and software for the B1 Bomber Weapon System Trainer. He later worked for 5 years at the McDonnell Douglas Helicopter Company (now Boeing Helicopter Company) as an Engineering Manager supporting developments of engineering simulators for the AH-64 Apache and LHX as part of the company's simulation based acquisition programs. John later worked for over 2 years as a Program Manager for Evans & Sutherland supporting visual system sales and marketing activities across the globe. John has a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado and an MBA in International Management from Thunderbird (Garvin School of International Management) in Glendale, Arizona. |
